MoCO Home Invasions Update 10-18-07

The Post decided to publish this week's MoCO crime report after all.

The data shows it was a wild week . . . "mythical" home invasions my @$$. I'm including the peeping tom incident since it looks the "peeper" may have planned to do more than look.

District 2 Bethesda Station

PEEPING TOM INCIDENTS

UNIVERSITY BLVD.,3400 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 21. A woman looked out her window and saw a man with a knife standing outside her window and peering in.

District 3 Silver Spring Station

LOCKWOOD DR.,11600 block, 11:40 p.m. Sept. 23. A masked man attempted to enter a residence.

SWEET CLOVER CT.,1800 block, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19. An attempt was made to enter a residence.

WAYNE AVE.,800 block, 2:10 p.m. Sept. 21. A man entered a residence by force. Nothing was reported missing.

District 4 Wheaton Station

ADRIAN ST.,4500 block, 1:20 p.m. Sept. 22. Three male youths entered a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

ARCOLA AVE.,2100 block, 12:10 a.m. Sept. 19. An attempt was made to enter a residence.

District 5 Germantown Station

DEMETRIOUS WAY,13300 block, 7:45 p.m. Sept. 25. A man claiming to be an installer for the Department of Homeland Security told a person outside of his residence that he had been selected for a free alarm system and he wanted to come inside to install the alarm. The solicitor persisted and tried to persuade the resident to let him enter the home. Police later identified another victim of the scam, who said the man also asked to inspect their home for installation. The man fled in a small, dark-gray or black "sports car" type vehicle.

ST. PETER CT.,12200 block, 6:52 p.m. Sept. 23. Two men and two women forced their way into a residence. One of the assailants pulled out a gun. The robbers realized they invaded the "wrong" residence and left empty-handed.

District 6 Gaithersburg Station

SPICEBERRY CIR.,7900 block, 1 a.m. Sept. 25. Three men armed with handguns forced their way into a residence, took property and fled.

SHERWOOD GREEN WAY,19300 block, 11:20 p.m. Sept. 24. An attempt was made to enter a residence

Takoma Park

CEDAR AVE.,7400 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 5. A man entered a residence by removing a porch window from its frame. A man was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary.
