MoCO Home Invasions Update 10-18-07

The Post decided to publish this week's MoCO crime report after all.

The data shows it was a wild week . . . "mythical" home invasions my @$$. I'm including the peeping tom incident since it looks the "peeper" may have planned to do more than look.

Ramping up the stupidity?

For some reason, the college online community has been really showing serious PSH over CCW on campus.

Here is but one example:
The Daily Campus (UConn)
(basic anti-gunowner hystersia)

The only sense you can make from that screed is that the UConn admissions system has failed the school.

OSHA violation?

Since people have been scratching their heads over the OK "guns allowed in employee cars" law was struck down by a federal judge, citing a conflict with OSHA, I wonder what to make of this story:

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local/10664667.html

Robber killed in gunfight with recycling employees
After many holdups, the Germantown site's owner said, he allowed workers to carry guns.

I guess Cooper and Geppert can expect a fine from OSHA since they are "not abating the hazard of workplace violence."

Delay in home invasions update

No updates for the past few weeks, primarily because the Post hasn't been running MoCO crime reports for some reason.

MoCO Home Invasions breaking 9-28-07

I'm a little later getting this up.

From WTOP:
Man Shot in Germantown Home Invasion
September 28, 2007 - 1:50pm

GERMANTOWN, Md. -- Montgomery County Police are investigating a home invasion after four men broke into a Germantown apartment early Friday morning.

Two men and a woman were asleep in the apartment, located on Crystal Rock Drive, when the men walked in at around 12:39 a.m. and demanded money, police say.

A 26-year-old man who lives in the apartment was shot and the attackers fled after stealing money. The man was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police say.

A 27-year-old man was also treated at a local hospital. The woman was not injured.

Police say one of the suspects was a 20-year-old black man with a stocky build, who was wearing a black hooded jacket, a mask, and baggy jeans. A second suspect is described as a young Hispanic man, who wore a dark colored t-shirt and baggy jeans. A third suspect is a white man with a thin build. The fourth suspect is a man -- with no description available.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
